Theatre in the Square

Spoof Audio: Mary McCormick

A number of years ago, while

appearing at Theatre in the Square in Marietta, I developed a spoof theatre critic known as Mary McCormick. Totally inept, Mary would misunderstand plays and productions and, in her ‘reviews’ would write utter nonsense. Of course, the theatre was

confused...until my cover was blown.

Mary’s popularity rose and her rise to infamy culminated in her appearing at the 2002 Jenny awards at the theatre - in the words of Mary, “an honor that mostly made her strain

hysterical.”

This is her contribution > listen.

This are spoof commercials for the theatre’s production of ‘The 1940’s Radio Hour’ > listen.
